Most of us lead busy lives, making it easy to put off making a Will. We don’t like to question our mortality.

 

Making a Will puts into place who you wish to benefit from your estate on your death; there may be specific bequests of jewellery, antiques, pictures etc. Where there are children under the age of 18, you can appoint a Guardian to look after their interests. If you are not married or in a civil partnership, then the surviving person would not automatically inherit. You can decide whether you wish to be buried or cremated, and laid to rest. These are just a few of the reasons for making a Will NOW.

 

If there is no Will, then upon your death the ‘rules of Intestacy’ will apply. This makes dealing with the estate more complicated and your loved ones may very well not be entitled to anything.

Therefore, having a Will in place can make such an awful time just a little easier for your loved ones, that are left behind. It will also ensure that your Estate is distributed in accordance with your wishes. You are in control. A small financial outlay for considerable peace of mind. After preparing your Will it will be indexed away at our office for safekeeping, with a copy sent to you once executed.
